The Josefina Story
Lots of customers are intrigued to know how Josefina came to be… Josefina was originally established by a lady over 20 years ago selling painted furniture and bric-a-brac, kind of like a flea market. it was a shop I had frequently visited in the hope to find the occasional gem.
My husband and I were building a house and as usual I got carried away and found myself looking at furniture before a single brick was laid ! I came across a 7 foot sideboard and fell in love with it. Demolition work was in the very early stages but I just had to have it. I took my husband Anthony to Josefina to “ get his opinion” ( I of course had already decided we were having it!) Anthony liked it so we agreed a price and it was then we jokingly said to the owner when you want to sell up let us know. The rest they say is history.
I wasn’t attracted to the stock It was more the shop and it’s name so on 1st October 2013 I took the keys to my pipe dream. since then Josefina has grown beyond recognition.
My rule since day one is to only buy items that I like and that I would have in my house. that way I have created my own style the “Josefina style” –
I now have five lovely ladies that work in the shop and workshop – we all have a passion for home interiors, clothing and all things gorgeous. We strive to offer the best customer experience and have an unrivalled array of products and options available.
We love to help and inspire every customer to love their home’s, we appreciate every purchase from a £3 card to a house load of furniture.

October 2013
Josefina goes from concept to reality with its first high street location launch.
July 2015
Further expansion with the addition of a small workshop
August 2017
Josefina moves to a bigger workshop with a showroom on the side.
May 2019
We renovated the back room and introduced The Josefina Dressing Room clothing line.
October 2021
The less mentioned about this year the best, but we survived due to the love & support of the Josefina community.
January 2014
Josefina expands with a move to a larger high-street shop.
March 2016
Addition of our own joinery workshop for bespoke furniture.
October 2018
Josefina shifts from trading secondhand furniture to focusing on handmade and made to measure furniture.
Spetember 2020
The shop undergoes a full re-fit.
July 2022
Moved our workshop and showroom to a bigger premises in a better location and launched a new website with full online shop.
