Our Handcrafted Furniture

At Josefina, we take pride in designing and handcrafting high quality, traditional furniture in the UK. All our furniture is made to order in our Sussex workshop by skilled craftsmen with over 40 years of furniture-making experience. Since each piece is made-to-order, we can customize any of our standard designs to your exact specifications, replicate a new piece based on a photo / sketch or you can use our design service where we hand draw a piece just for you based on your requirements. 
Our furniture combines select woods with decorative beaded MDF back panels. We spray-paint each piece for a flawless finish in your choice of our 16 colours or any custom shade at an additional charge of £60.
Our sturdy solid wood doors and frames ensure durability. Traditional hinges and dovetailed drawers.  Adjustable solid wood shelves offer flexibility. Your choice of skirting and crown shape. 
Every piece is painted inside and out. We apply tough, long-lasting acrylic eggshell paint for a perfect finish.
Opting for Oak or pine tops to your piece add warmth. Their varying grain and tone lend natural beauty. Protective lacquer enhances their resilience while honoring the wood’s organic appeal.
Timber may naturally expand and contract minimally with humidity and temperature. Small cracks can emerge as handcrafted furniture settles into your home. These modest changes enhance the vintage charm. Simply transition furniture gradually into warmer spaces to minimize acclimatization effects.
In addition to our sprayed finish we also offer custom finishes where we offer a selection of options to suit your style. Our pieces can be waxed, varnished, or hand-painted in your choice of matt or eggshell sheens. We use high-quality Mylands paint, but can also paint with Farrow & Ball colours for an additional £30 per item. No need to finalize your colour selection now—you’ll have three weeks after ordering to choose your perfect shade.
 

Expected Delivery Timeframe

Current lead times are approximately 6-8 weeks. We will confirm the exact timeframe before you place your order, as it can vary during busy seasons. Throughout the process, we will provide regular updates so you know the status of your order.
We offer two delivery options for your convenience:
  1. We can arrange a professional white glove courier service to deliver and set up your furniture. They will carefully wrap and place each item. Please let us know about any access restrictions like stairs or elevators. The delivery cost will be charged at the time of delivery by card or cash unless otherwise agreed upon. Expect around £3 per mile from our workshop (TN22 3XN) for deliveries outside the local area.
  2. You can also book your own courier through a service like www.anyvan.com. Just enter our postcode and yours to get quotes and track your delivery. We will take photos of the piece before its loaded and surprise it being packed. 
Of course, collection is always an option too. We’re happy to assist with loading, and if your coming from far away you may like to make a day of it and explore our charming high street in Uckfield. With many independent shops, it’s a lively town without empty storefronts a rare sight in this day and age.
